The annual Sherwood Fest 5K - Conquer the Climb typically kicks off SherwoodFest every September.  Unfortunately, SherwoodFest has been cancelled due to coronavirus, but the SherwoodFest 5K is happening! Virtually.

What is a Virtual Run?

In a virtual race, you are your own timekeeper. Register online and choose your own starting line, whether it's a neighborhood street, a track or even a treadmill. Run the 5K and record your time on our site.

Whereas other virtual 5k’s ask you to run a 5k wherever you wish and post your time, we offer: “You, but faster!”  This virtual 5k allows you to run as many 5k’s as you want to from your registration date until Saturday, September 26th and then you upload your fastest time on the 26th.   It’s that simple!

What's the CLIMB part all about?

The original race course included a challenging slope up on the final leg of the race. The incline to the finish line is how the race became known as the “Conquer the Climb.”The race this year will take on a new look as we present our very first Virtual 5K with the moniker of “Conquer YOUR Climb” as we all take on our own challenges that face us today.  While you won’t have the infamous final climb to conquer this year, we ask that you all look at YOUR climb and whatever it is, take it on headfirst and conquer it.

Walking is okay too!

Not a runner but still want to support this worthy cause?  Get out with your family, friends or co-workers and walk the 5k!  While you spend quality time with the ones you love, take some photos and have fun with it, you may just win a prize! Share your photos with us. #sherwoodfest5K

Don't want to run or walk?

Still not convinced about running or walking a 5K? That's okay. Simply click that register button from the comfort of your home and we will send you an awesome t-shirt for your support.

What does this event benefit?

The event is a fundraiser for Sherwood Rotary’s scholarships and youth programs. Scholarships are awarded in May. Year round youth programs funded include programs for elementary students with an emphasis in topics such as oral health, literacy, and community service.

What's the Cost?

Cost is $25.00 which includes a specially designed shirt (all shirts will be shipped after the event) and the pride of knowing that you are supporting our local youth as all profits benefit the Sherwood Rotary Scholarship Fund and Rotary youth programs.

Are there prizes?

We will not have our usual medals and trophies for overall and age group winners this year, but that doesn’t mean everyone can’t run to win as we will provide a finishers list of all times provided to see how you stack up!

There will be a social media contest where you have a chance to win a grab bag of goodies!  Take photos of you having fun on your Virtual 5K and tag us on Instagram -  #sherwoodfest5K

You can also upload to our Facebook page and you may just win!
